Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl follows the eccentric blacksmith Will Turner, who reluctantly teams up with the rogue pirate Captain Jack Sparrow to rescue his love, Elizabeth Swann, from a crew of undead pirates led by Captain Barbossa. The undead crew, cursed by Aztec gold to turn into skeletons under the moonlight, need Elizabeth's blood to break their eternal torment. After a series of sea battles, double-crosses, and island strandings, Jack and Will infiltrate the pirates' cave hideout. Will lifts the curse at the exact moment Jack shoots Barbossa, rendering the villain mortal and killing him, allowing Jack to reclaim his ship, the Black Pearl, and Will to win Elizabeth's heart.
